  Wooo Hoooo Supreme Court!!In a 5-3 decision yesterday the US Supreme Court ruled that Nero Bush (known for fiddling while America burns) cannot may not hold kangaroo court for detainees, and that the detainees are in fact covered by the 3rd article of the Geneva Convention.
Don't misunderstand me. Those detainees who are in fact guilty should be punished. However, their guilt or innocence must be established by the rule of law, not the whim of Emperor Bush, and that's the decision the Court reached.
Note that Thomas, Scalia, and Alito (aka Scalito) dissented. Roberts had to recuse himself because he judged the case in the federal appeals court, and it was his decision that the Court overturned yesterday.

27 June I'm backI'm back, so I'm checking this out as a way to keep in touch with friends. There's a lot to learn these spaces, but I'll figure them out in time.
We're having a heat wave here. It reached 103° yesterday, so I'm sautéing in my own juices.
